LEGO Advent Calendars 2022 Are Now Available: Star Wars, Harry Potter, and More

Some people say summer’s over when pumpkin spice comes back. I say it’s not over until the LEGO advent calendars are out. And the 2022 LEGO advent calendars are now available, so it’s officially time to start thinking about the holidays. You can pick up calendars based on Star Wars, Harry Potter, Friends, and City, as usual. But this year’s Marvel set is all about Guardians of the Galaxy. Let’s take a look, shall we?

Advent calendars offer a special gift or treat each day in December leading up to Christmas. Traditional advent calendars offer candy or a piece of chocolate. LEGO introduced its first advent calendar in 1998, and they’ve been a yuletide staple ever since. Each set comes with 24 miniature builds hidden behind their own individual cardboard door. Whether you get one for a kid or for yourself, it really is fun to put together a little LEGO creation each morning.

This year’s LEGO Star Wars advent calendar (see it on Amazon) features tiny builds of iconic vehicles like a TIE Fighter and Luke’s Landspeeder. Some of the builds are Christmas-themed as well. For instance, you get minifigs of R2-D2 and C-3PO wearing Christmas sweaters with the other droid’s likeness stitched into it. It’s an undeniable delight.

The LEGO Harry Potter advent calendar (Amazon) comes with seven minifigures, including Harry, Sirius Black, Moaning Myrtle, and more, plus tiny builds of memorable items from the films. The Guardians of the Galaxy advent calendar (Amazon) comes with minifigures like Groot and Rocket, plus builds like space ships, a weapon rack, and a boom box.

And while the LEGO Friends (Amazon) and LEGO City (Amazon) advent calendars don’t have a flashy pop culture license attached to them, they have some fun builds too. They’re more obviously Christmas-themed, and they cost $10 less. Really, you can’t go wrong with any of these advent calendars.

If you’re more of a Funko fan than a LEGO lover, you can check out the 2022 Funko advent calendars instead. They’re up for preorder, and will be released well before December 1 rolls around.
