One of Roomba’s Best Self-Emptying Robot Vacuums Is 50% Off for Prime Day
![]()
For October Prime Day 2023, Amazon is offering up to 50% off the most popular self emptying robot vacuums , including iRobot (Roomba), Shark, and Roborock. Self emptying robot vacuums have dropped so much in price to the point that it’s now better to buy one with an included dock. Normally you’d have to empty out the dustbin every cleaning (sometimes even more often). However, with the self emptying dock, you can go a month or two before you have to swap out the disposable bag.
Here are the top three deals we’ve seen so far for self-emptying robot vacs that include a dock.
iRobot Roomba j6+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum for $399.99
iRobot should be a name you’re familiar with. The j6+ is easily the best Roomba deal you’ll find for Prime Day. Even at its retail price, the j6+ is considered one of the best values because it offers a lot of the features you’d find in the higher end Roombas but at a fraction of the price. Physically, the j6+ is actually identical to the more expensive j7+. The only difference is that the j7+ can recognize more objects to avoid, whereas the j6+ only recognizes the two most hazardous objects for a robot vac: poo and cords. Other features include 10X the suction power compared to the lower end Roombas, dual rubber multi-surface brushes, smart functionality so you can control, monitor, and set up schedules for it on your phone, and most importantly, the ability to empty its own dustbin into the dock so you empty out the dust once a month. Unlike the other two robot vacs here, the Roomba j6 uses vSLAM navigation, which basically maps out a room using identifying markers through its visual cameras (the other two use Lidar navigation).
Roborock Q5+ Self Emptying Robot Vacuum for $399.99
Roborock isn’t as well known in the United States as iRobot, but globally Roborock sells far more units. The Q5 is a consistently well rated model because it has great navigation and a lot of premium features at a low price. The brush design is different from the j6+ in that this one uses a single large rubber brush with bristles coupled with 2700Pa of suction. The Q5 uses Lidar navigation to map out your room, and you can edit the map via an app on your smartphone, including placing furniture and setting up invisible walls or no-go zones. Roborock claims that the dustbin in the dock will last up to 7 weeks between changes.
Shark Matrix Plus Self Emptying Robot Vacuum and Mop for $399.99
Shark offers the best bang for the buck of the three, and that’s why they’re so popular. The Shark Matrix is the only vacuum in this lineup that offers both a self-emptying dock AND mopping functionality for $399.99. Like the Q5, the Matrix uses Lidar navigation to map out your room. It also cleans in an effective grid pattern. Also like the Q5, it uses a single rubber brushroll. The dustbin the dock is true HEPA rated and unlike the other two it doesn’t use a dustbag. Shark claims that you can go up to 60 days between cleanings. The mop is similar to other robot moppers in that it uses sonic vibrations (100 vibrations per minute) to clean your hard floors. The pads are removable and machine washable, and extra pads are included.
Other options are also available
If you’re not interested in these three models, there are some other robot vacs from iRobot, Shark, and Roborock that are also available.
