New LEGO Sets for May 2023: Star Wars, Disney, and More
It’s a new month (May of 2023, in case you haven’t been paying attention), which means a new batch of LEGO sets is now available. The biggest draws this month are the new Star Wars sets, plus some great-looking releases for Disney 100. We have all the details you need below, so let’s dive in.
LEGO Disney 100 Minifigures
- Individual blind bag at Best Buy – $4.99
Who doesn’t love minifigures? A new set of adorable minifigs is now available in celebration of Disney’s 100th anniversary. The set contains 18 figures, available (as always) only in blind bags. You can buy a pack of six blind bags at Amazon, or individual bags at LEGO Store. The characters available represent the whole span of Disney as a company, including Mickey Mouse, Pinnochio, The Queen, Robin Hood, Tiana, Mulan, Cruella, and more.
LEGO Star Wars Return of the Jedi Dioramas
Two new LEGO Star Wars diorama sets are available, and they’re out to celebrate 40 years of Return of the Jedi. One is the Endor Speeder Chase, which features Luke, Leia, and a (doomed) stormtrooper. The other is based on the iconic battle between Luke and Darth Vader in the Emperor’s throne room on the Death Star.
LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter
The latest addition to the Ultimate Collector Series is this awesome new LEGO Store exclusive X-Wing set. It’s intended for builders age 18+, and meant mostly for display purposes. It comes with a Luke Skywalker minifigure and an R2-D2 droid figure, and you can open the wings to put it in attack mode with the turn of a knob. This set is available now for VIP members (sign up here for free), and May 4 for everyone else.
LEGO Star Wars: Pirate Snub Fighter
This modestly priced set has you build a starfighter from Mandalorian season 3. It also comes with minifigures for Vane and a Snub Fighter Pilot.
LEGO Star Wars Mandalorian Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor
This set gets you not one, but two starfighter ships from The Mandalorian. You get to build both a rad-looking Fang Fighter, and a downright predatory-looking TIE Interceptor. It also comes with three minifigures, including Mando himself with a darksaber.
LEGO Star Wars May 4th Promotions on LEGO Store
If you’re going to pick up Star Wars LEGO sets at the LEGO Store, you’ll be pleased to hear they’re offering a number of promotions for May 4th. These include a free Death Star II set with LEGO Star Wars purchases of $150 or more, plus additional bonuses. Full details here.
LEGO The Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell
This LEGO Store-exclusive set (at least for now) is based on the upcoming live-action Little Mermaid movie, and is aimed at the 18+ crowd. It’s a 1,808-piece set depicting a giant open clamshell featuring Ariel, King Triton, a cave for Ursula, and more. It also has lots of little Easter eggs from both the animated movie as well as the live-action one.
LEGO Technic Peugeot 9X8 24H Le Mans Hybrid Hypercar
Those in the market for a building 1:10 scale version of a very expensive car can pick up this new Technic set. It absolutely oozes power, I mean just look at it.
