Meet HP’s New AI Laptop That Runs for Over 30 Hours

HP has expanded its OmniBooks laptop range with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips at this year’s Computex 2025 trade show in Taipei. The brand introduced the OmniBook 5 series notebooks with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X chip in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes at the event. These laptops use Qualcomm’s power-efficient Snapdragon X series SoCs to trade performance for long battery life.

As expected, HP has loaded the new Snapdragon X series processor-powered OmniBook 5 range laptops with several artificial intelligence-backed features. HP’s new Copilot+ PCs offer AI-powered experiences such as Recall, Click-to-Do, improved Windows Search, Cocreator in Paint, and more.
There’s also the built-in HP AI Companion onboard these notebooks that offers on-device tools, including document analysis and PC performance optimization. HP has powered its ultra-portable laptops with a 45 TOPS (Tera Operations per Second) Neural Processing Unit (NPU) in the Snapdragon X and X Plus processors.
14-inch & 16-inch size variants and up to 34 hours of battery life on offer
HP is offering the OmniBook 5 series in 14-inch and 16-inch display size variants. Both offer 1,920 x 1,200 pixels screen resolution, 8-core Snapdragon X/X Plus chips, and Windows 11 Home. Consumers can configure them with up to 1TB of PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSDs and up to 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM. The new HP OmniBooks with Snapdragon X chips also feature a dedicated key that launches the Microsoft Copilot AI companion. These also support external monitors with up to 5K resolution at 60Hz.

HP claims that the OmniBook 5 series offers the world’s longest battery life in a consumer AI notebook. With up to 34 hours of battery life, HP has built these laptops for students. Furthermore, the new PCs support HP Fast Charge technology, which charges their battery up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes. They also come bundled with a 65W mini adapter that’s nearly half the size and weight of the previous model.
Coming to the pricing, HP will start selling the OmniBook 5 14 in July at a starting price of $799 on its website. It’ll also go on sale on Amazon and Micro Center in June and at Best Buy and Costco in July. The OmniBook 5 16 will go on sale in July, starting at a price of $849.
