The XFX AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT GPU Is Down to $429.99 and Includes Starfield

Today Amazon is offering an excellent deal on a very capable AMD GPU that competes with NVIDIA’s most popular offerings. You can pick up the XFX Speedster AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT 16GB GPU for only $429.99. Even better yet, you get a free voucher for the upcoming Starfield game. This card is a perfect card for 1080p and 1440p gaming, it is powerful enough to handle 4K gaming, and it’s considerably less expensive than NVIDIA’s closest alternatives.

XFX AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Video Card (RTX 3080 / RTX 4070 Equivalent) with Free Starfield Voucher for $429.99

Here’s your chance to get performance equivalent to a GeForce RTX 3080 or RTX 4070 for a much better price. The Radeon RX 6800 XT is on the same level of performance as either card. That means this card can easily push 60+fps in 1080p and 1440p gaming, even with graphic settings turned up. In fact, this card is powerful enough to accomplish 60+fps in 4K with a fair number of (older) games as well.

There are a few caveats in favor of NVIDIA. AMD cards don’t perform as well as NVIDIA cards when it comes to ray tracing, but for anyone who doesn’t have the best $1000+ GPUs on the market, we’d recommend you don’t turn that on. It’s a significant performance hog for minimal visual improvement. NVIDIA’s DLSS technology is also superior to AMD’s FSR, but it only matters in games that support it. Starfield, for example, is a Radeon sponsored game and hasn’t supported DLSS out of the box.

From a dollar to performance standpoint, the RX 6800 is a far better value than the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070. The 4070 has an MSRP of $599.99 and you won’t find it for much cheaper than that (although it’s available right now for $549.99). The Radeon RX 6800 XT launched with an MSRP of $650 and now it’s $220 cheaper. At its current deal price, it’s a whopping $170 cheaper than an RTX 4070. If you’re looking to upgrade your GPU right now without spending a fortune, this is a solid pick.

Starfield was released on September 6 to polarizing opinions, but sufficed to say it is an ambitious game with dozens and dozens of hours of replayability. Like other Bethesda games, Skyrim has open mod support, so expect this game to get even better over time. At the moment, it’s optimized Radeon cards because of its AMD sponsorship.
