The Best Father’s Day Deals on Tech and Gaming

This year, Father’s Day lands on June 18. As a dad myself, I’ll tell you that getting an awesome gift from my kids is really the deciding factor to how great of a day this is. Well not really… but sort of. All dads are different, of couse, but there are still plenty of “safe bet” gift ideas. Gift cards and straight-up cash come to immediate mind, but also gadgets that anyone would appreciate like earbuds, tablets, TVs, speakers, phones, and so forth. If you have a gamer dad you can’t go wrong with the latest video game drops like Tears of the Kingdom, Diablo 4, or God of War (the ultimate dad game).

I’ve gone ahead and listed a bunch of items that would make great dad gifts. This is certainly a biased list coming from a dad who loves everything tech and gaming related, but it could be a springboard for your own personalized gift shopping. Note that this list is far from complete, and I’ll continue to add deals as we get closer to Father’s Day.

Handy and Portable Apple Devices

You can’t go wrong with an Apple device for Father’s Day. The AirPods Pro noise cancelling earbuds, the powerful iPad Pro, and the stylish Apple Watch Series 8 are all useful portables that dad would appreciate. If your dad is anything like me and tends to misplace things, the AirTags might be a godsend for him. If dad has an iPhone and wants protection for it while still looking good, check out the Carved cases. They back features a mix of wood and resin, and they are absolutely gorgeous. I have one and it’s never coming off my phone.

Plug & Play SONOS Soundbars and Speakers

To celebrate Father’s Day, Best Buy is offering 25% off select Sonos soundbars and portable speakers. If you’re looking for an easy solution to add great sound to your home, then you’ve probably already heard of Sonos. Sonos speakers are very easy to set up, don’t take a large amount of space, and most importantly, offer distortion-free room-filling audio. They certainly make a great gift for dads who take pride in their home theater setup. The only caveat is that Sonos speakers aren’t inexpensive and discounts don’t come around as often as we’d like. Fortunately, the deals today are the best we’ve seen so far this year to watch

The Coolest TVs of the Year

These aren’t just any TVs. These are the TVs that dad would be proud of. That means they have the latest and greatest technology, like an OLED, Mini-LED, or QLED panel for showing off incredible HDR movies to rival dads, or a a native 120Hz refresh rate with HDMI 2.1 inputs for blazing fast 4K gameplay on a PS5 or Xbox console, or a massive screen size to watch every sports game as if you were right there in the stadium.

RGB Illuminated Home Improvement

It’s 2023 and RGB is still trendy. It’s easy for dad to deck his gaming space out with customized illumination without spending a lot of money because LED lights aren’t as expensive as they used to be. The technology has progressed as well. You can now change the brightness or color temp of your LED strips on the fly right from your smartphone. In fact, some light kits no longer need a hub. Other nifty features on more premium kits include RGBIC LED diodes that can be controlled individually to create incredible light shows and patterns, lights that respond to ambient light and sound, and Wi-Fi lights that can be voice controlled via Google Assistant or Alexa.

The Latest Video Games and Accessories

We normally thinking of dads giving games to their children, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the reverse! Fortunately this year, Father’s Day coincides with the release of some of the biggest titles of the year, including The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Diablo 4. The Sony Days of Play sale is also concurrently running with some great deals on games like God of War: Ragnarok and Ghost of Tsushima.
