The cheapest config is paired with an AMD Ryzen 7 7700 CPU, 16GB of DDR5-4800MHz RAM, and 512GB SSD storage. For about $400 more you can upgrade to an Intel Core i9-13900F CPU and 32GB of RAM. These are excellent deals for gaming PCs that blow almost every other gaming PCs out of the water. If you don’t want to pay over $3K for a RTX 4090 PC, then a 4080 PC is easily the next best thing.

The R15 is the newest model in the Alienware Aurora lineup. It’s currently the only model from either Dell or Alienware that’s equipped with both an Intel Raptor Lake CPU and GeForce 40 series GPU. One of the biggest upgrades is with the cooling; this particular R15 is equipped with a beefy 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler for the CPU, as well as five 120mm system fans for more aggressive chassis airflow. You shouldn’t experience any kind of thermal throttling when playing even the most demanding games.

The AMD Ryzen 7 7700 CPU excels in both gaming and workstation tasks. It features a turbo boosted clock speed of 5.4GHz with 16 cores, 24 threads, and 40GB of total cache. The Intel Core i9-13900F is an even more impressive CPU (and it should be, since it goes toe-to-toe against the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X). It boasts a turbo boosted clock speed of 4.6Hz with a whopping 24 cores and 64GB of total cache.

The RTX 4080 is the second most powerful card on the market. On the AMD front, only the Radeon RX 7900 XTX can keep up (and that’s if you ignore DLSS and ray tracing). Note that this RTX 4080 is the better of the two RTX 4080 that NVIDIA had announced pre-launch. That means this is the one with the boosted 16GB of GDDR6X VRAM (the 8GB model has been relabeled the RTX 4070 Ti). It’s much more powerful than previous generation cards, performing about 50% faster than an RTX 3080 Ti. It also supports DLSS 3.0 (DLSS 2.0 + frame generation), something the RTX 30 series lacks, and that increases the performance gap for games that support it.
