How to Watch The Puppy Bowl

Sunday, February 12 is a very exciting day… as puppies from across the United States gather in the Puppy Bowl Stadium to battle it out for the Lombarky Trophy. This year will see Team Ruff and Team Fluff go head-to-head in the most important sporting event of the year. Don’t let the adorable line-up fool you, either. These precious pups came to win! And raise awareness about adoption, which is what matters the most.

It’s an event that shouldn’t be missed, and we’re here to give you all of the details so you and your furry friend can be ready to go on the day.

When Is The Puppy Bowl?

The Puppy Bowl will air on Super Bowl Sunday (the date mentioned earlier – Sunday, February 12) on Animal Planet at 2:00 PM ET/11:00 AM PT. It’s a three-hour-long event, too (including the pre-show that starts at 1:00 PM ET/10:00 AM PT), so make sure to bring plenty of snacks and treats to have with your pets!

Where Can I Watch The Puppy Bowl?

As stated above, The Puppy Bowl will air on Animal Planet. It’ll also be streaming on Discovery+ and can be watched on various live TV services, such as FuboTV, Hulu + LiveTV, DirectTV Stream, and YouTubeTV. It can also be streamed on HBO Max, as Discovery+ will soon be fully merged with the company in April. Whichever your preference is for watching, just make sure to end up on Animal Planet for the big event.

If you’re interested in joining one of these services to watch The Puppy Bowl, there are several ways to do so. Signing up direct on Discovery+ is $4.99 with limited ads or ad-free for $6.99. Amazon Prime members can add Discovery+ as a channel to Prime Video as well for the same cost. What’s The Purpose Of The Puppy Bowl?

While an adorable event to watch, The Puppy Bowl actually helps raise awareness to the importance of adopting pets, along with highlighting various rescues and the people that help these animals find a special forever home. According to Discovery+’s website, “Puppy Bowl XIX will feature 122 puppies, 67 shelters and rescues across 34 states.”

Some of these puppies are up for adoption as well! During the ‘Adoptable Pup’ segments, there will be 11 shelters from across the country that will feature one of their pups, so you’re sure to fall in love with one of them. It’s not all about dogs, either, as kittens will have their time to shine during the Kitty Halftime Show, too. During their Adoptable segment, three shelters will be featured that have kittens up for adoption.

This Super Bowl Sunday, show some love to the puppies competing for the Lombarky Trophy. It’s a great event to experience with loved ones, and may even inspire you to adopt a furry friend (or another) for the family.
