New LEGO Sets for February 2024 and Beyond
It’s a fresh new month and, as we all know, that can only mean one thing: New LEGO sets are here. February is actually a pretty slow month for new LEGO releases, but the ones coming out are pretty great across the board. There’s a Dune Ornithopter, a London phone booth, and more. Plus, a bunch of sets coming out in March are now available for preorder. There’s a lot to cover, so let’s dive in, shall we?
LEGO Bouquet of Roses Is Available
This set actually came out in January, but it’s a great set to pick up right now for anyone in the market for a Valentine’s Day gift. It doesn’t cost much more than real roses, and these bad boys last forever without needing to be watered. That’s a win-win.
LEGO Dune Ornithopter Is Available
This set is the most popular with IGN readers this month by a long shot. It’s a great looking build based on the awesome insectoid flying vehicles from the Dune franchise. And it arrives just in time, too, as Dune: Part Two will hit theaters March 1.
LEGO Family Tree Is Available
If you’re interested in using LEGO for decoration, this is a solid pick. It’s a gorgeous tree that you build, and then the idea is to clip photos of your family to the branches. It works great as a gift as well.
LEGO Red London Telephone Box Is Available for Insiders
I adore this set. It’s a LEGO Store exclusive that will be widely available February 4, but you can snag it now if you’re a LEGO Insider. (If you’re not, sign up here for free). But this set is perfectly tidy and pleasant and simply relaxing. I don’t know what it is, but for me the aesthetic is perfection.
LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 Is Up for Preorder
You have five new Star Wars LEGO sets up for preorder this month. They all look great and are set to release March 1. First up is a new version of R2-D2. There have been many sets based on the adorable droid, but this might be my favorite? It’s nicely mid-range in terms of price and piece count, and it looks fantastic compared to some of the other recent Artoo sets. It’s not even made for the 18+ crowd, so it’s a good LEGO set for kids. I’m a fan. It comes with a display plaque and a Darth Malak minifigure.
LEGO Star Wars: A New Hope Boarding The Tantive IV Is Up for Preorder
Here’s where it all started. This LEGO set depicts the hallway on the Tantive IV, where the entire Star Wars saga began. It comes with seven minifigures, including Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, Rebel Fleet Troopers, and Captain Antilles, plus a 25th anniversary of Clone Trooper Fives minifigure with a display stand. It’s a seriously cool set for Star Wars fans, and it’s out March 1.
More New Star Wars LEGO Sets Up for Preorder
Three additional ship sets are also available to preorder, also with a March 1 release date. They’re great-looking renditions of the Millennium Falcon, Tantive IV, and Invisible Hand. Preorder whichever ones you want now.
LEGO Harry Potter Talking Sorting Hat Up for Preorder
One of the cooler upcoming sets is this one based in the Harry Potter universe. It’s a build of the lovable magical sorting hat that tells new Hogwarts students which house they’re in. And while this is technically a box filled with brown LEGO pieces, once built, it has all the personality of the gruff sorting hat from the books and films. It even talks, with 31 randomized sounds that play when you either put it on your head or tip the top of the hat. Unfortunately, LEGO seems to be keeping the sounds close to the vest, as the official videos don’t show it talking. Even so, it’s a nice set, and it comes with a display stand and a minifigure of Harry wearing a tiny version of the hat. Check out the best Harry Potter LEGO sets for more of our favorite Potterverse builds.
